ABOUT  BENAN

The day Benan understood the philosophy of design, she realized that creativity is a limitless space. Over time, her career has led her towards a more refined and specific field. She believes that the biggest advantage of working in fashion and art is this: it allows you to know yourself first.

BENAN'S EARLY AGES

As someone who was born in Ankara, the heart of the civil service, I did not have a very exciting life. I remember one day, on my way to school, I froze in the middle of the street and just looked at people. I felt like I was in a Sims game, everyone was flat and robot-like. Vitality was almost non-existent. Since I was studying at the (2000) Fine Arts High School in those years, while everyone else was preparing for engineering schools, I needed to understand what I was doing while studying painting and sculpture. That day, I discovered the potential of fashion and art to make life different. 

 

While my imagination was experiencing an awareness, what would happen if people's spheres of influence changed?

 

When an individual experiences awakening, it also affects her or her environment. I can say that this journey I embarked on to discover and color my own life was fueled by curiosity. It is very exciting for me to have a platform where I can transfer all my knowledge. I care about being able to convey to you how valuable fields fashion and art are.

BENAN'S FASHION CAREER

​​Benan started her career as a designer for prestigious men's fashion brands. In the years when she believed that boundaries were connected to imagination, she founded her own brand.

 

In 2014-15, she was among the young brands at Pitti Uomo, the world's most important men's fashion platform. Those were years when she made quick decisions and was highly productive. During the same period, she began giving professional style advice and designing for a select list of celebrity clients.

She gained her expertise in men's fashion in 2016 when she became the head designer of the men's department at Beymen. Her relationship with global brands started during those years. She got to know new classic fashion and the culture of taste.​​

Among the famous names she has worked with are Mustafa Sandal (2015-20), Murat Boz (2021), Murat Dalkılıç (2014-16), Mabel Matiz (2022). She created the styles and images of the Brooks&Brothers (2023), Silk&Cashmere (2022), Beymen Men's (2016-19) collections in the brand catalogues.

BENAN'S MISSION

​​​She has always enjoyed helping many friends and family members who constantly ask her what to buy and what to wear. So, she started to think: How can she offer what she does for her clients to everyone?

 

We all know that online shopping has changed everything, but the options online seem endless; we can browse through hundreds of black t-shirts and thousands of pants. There are (often not expert) employees in stores to help you make choices, but online shopping requires a great skill.

This was the main factor that prompted her to decide to establish Tips For Gent in 2020. What she envisioned was a guiding platform for men. In 2022, she tried a membership system, and the demand was more than she expected. While this started to make her happy, it also gave her a sense of responsibility.

As of 2024, her dream is to create a more efficient platform to meet this potential need. Clothing has a strong connection with culture, vision, psychology, and personal development. The most distinctive feature of this platform is that it has a vision beyond just clothing.
